Achaia Swimming Beaches
At Achaia’s beaches it is certain that you will never get bored, either you go west to Ionian Sea or east to Patraikos or Korinthiakos gulfs. Beaches with sand, pebble, rocky beaches, isolated or crowded beaches, picturesque beaches, calm, and wild.
There is a beach for every taste. And by the sea, where waves go off, there are numerous bars, cafes, restaurants, and taverns. Places to drink coffee, ouzo, to have lunch or dinner with seafood.
From Aigira to Rion the sea and its beaches have common characteristics. Sparkly clean, fresh enough waters, challenging bed. Beaches with pebble, 3-5 meters wide. And when you get sun burnt, you will certainly find some shadow and several trees close to the beach. It would be better of course to go to some of the local taverns and restaurants.
From Rion to Kaminia waters are still fresh and clean but the pebble is much finer. But the scenery is the same. From Kato Achaia to Kalogria the sand is just unending. The sea here is shallow and warmer. Undoubtedly, it is the ideal place for all those who like sunbathing. Crowded, organized beaches (Lakkopetra, Niforeika, Kalamaki, Kalogria) over 10 m wide, they are suitable for sunbathing and lots of games. Beach tennis, beach-soccer. The clean and beautiful beaches of our region are famous worldwide. Blue flags have been awarded to Kalogria beach, Lakkopetra beach, Rododafni beach (Avythos), Selianitika beach, Loggos beach.
All beaches are easily accessible from Old National Highways of Korinthos-Patras and Patras- Pyrgos.
Akrata
Akrata is a seaside town that retains the built-in color and the wonderful feeling of “village”, lying at the foot of the amphitheater Helmos with beautiful natural surroundings and magnificent sea. Akrata is 70 km away from Patras.”
Diakopto

Aigio
Aigio is the second largest city of Achaia (with 21,500), built amphitheatrically with a wonderful view at the Corinthian Gulf. The foothills of the mountains Helmos and Panachaikon and rivers Selinountas and Meganitis are the physical boundaries of the area.”The name is interpreted as the “city of the waves” due to its location. Located at the ancient Aigio where archaeological excavations have brought to light parts of Mycenaean cemeteries and findings of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman eras. It was the first town liberated by the Turks during the War of 1821 (March 26). It lies 41 km east from Patras.
